About
Welcome to Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q Pensacola, your go-to destination for a hearty taste of Southern BBQ right on Davis Highway. With a commitment to quality and flavor, this establishment invites guests to indulge in an array of mouthwatering sandwiches, savory sides, and delightful starters that linger in your memory long after the meal.
As you step inside, you’re embraced by a casual vibe that sets the stage for a delightful BBQ experience. Patrons have remarked on the excellent service, with staff members making sure your needs are met promptly, whether you're seated or ordering at the counter. The atmosphere is fun, making it an ideal place to unwind with a cold drink and a plate of ribs.
One of the highlights at Jim 'N Nick's is, undoubtedly, their signature brisket. Although some diners have noted variations in flavor, many rave about how it competes with the best BBQ cities across the country. It's touted as a must-try for visitors. The Carolina-style pulled pork also garners praise, boasting a beautifully smoky flavor that brings authentic BBQ vibes to the table.
For those who enjoy a good starter, the Pitmaster Nacho Platter stands out with its layering of white queso, shredded cheddar, and a choice of hearty meats, creating a flavor explosion. Its price point of $17.99 makes it a worthy treat for sharing or for those with a substantial appetite.
The side dishes here are not to be overlooked. Their mac-n-cheese often earns high marks for its creamy texture, while the potato salad and cheddar muffins also receive favorable reviews from regulars. As one customer noted, the pickles alone are worth a perfect 10, enhancing the BBQ experience with their crunch and tang.
However, not all reviews are without critique. Some patrons have mentioned that the portions of BBQ sauce on the brisket can sometimes overwhelm the taste of the meat itself. The sauce, while rich, can dominate, leading some to prefer a more distinct flavor of the brisket.
In essence, Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q Pensacola is a gem for anyone craving authentic barbecue. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or gathering with friends for a feast, the variety and quality are sure to impress. Don't forget to try their Honey Habanero Sauce or the Morgan County White Sauce for an added kick, and top it all off with a charming stroll through the nearby Pensacola area after your meal!
Next time you find yourself hungry in Pensacola, make your way to Jim 'N Nick's - where BBQ dreams come true!
“ Brisket was tender but lacked seasoning. Ribs were tasty. Service was good. Chicken wings were ok,but a bit pricey Overall 7 out of 10 ”
“ Best brisket ever. Have had BBQ coast to coast and this was awesome, even better than Kansas City ”
“ Top tier BBQ After flying cross Country my buddy had this room temperature platter waiting at the hotel. For layover lunch in DFW I had eaten a great brisket and sausage sandwich at the legendary Cousins barbecue. Love barbecue and can definitely eat it twice in one day but I'm thinking ok barbecue... in Little Old Pensacola? Hey it's free and I won't go to bed hungry at least. WRONG!... everything and I mean everything, sides and all were superb and totally legit, along with the thin perfectly balanced sauce ON DA SIDE ALWAYS. Come to find out Jim n Nicks is well established and now I know why. Indeed look forward to visiting one of your restaurants someday; look charming from the outside too. ”
“ Cruise in, order at the counter, and your food is brought to your table. The service is excellent with roving servers willing to help. The place has a fun, casual vibe and is the perfect spot to grab a beer and some barbecue. Don't miss the southern burger. It's incredible! ”
“ Sorry I started eating before I took the pic. Presentation was great except for the amount of BBQ sauce on the brisket. Good service & nice atmosphere. Let's talk about the important stuff: Potato salad: 8/10 Mac-n-cheese: 9/10 I like mine a little creamier. Cheddar muffins: 9/10 Pickles: 10/10 Jalapeño & cheddar sausage: 8/10 Not too mealy. Good flavor. Carolina style pulled pork: 9/10 Great bark, great smoke ring. I love Carolina bbq but the vinegar was a little stronger than what you would get in the Carolina's. Brisket: 7/10 The only reason it's not higher is because they drowned it in bbq sauce. I want to taste the brisket, not the sauce. Let the sauce be my choice to add or not. Great bark & great smoke ring but I couldn't really taste it due to the sauce over powering everything. I feel like if the meat is sauced before you give it to me you are trying to cover up or hide something. Sauce: 5/10 Sauce has an extremely heavy ketchup base. I will be back to try the rest of the menu items as will update as I do. ”
“ Jim N Nicks never disappoints! My visit here was amazing, especially because of the *baby back ribs*, which were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. If I didn't know better, I would have sworn the *mac n cheese* was homemade--creamy, cheesy perfection that took me back to my childhood. The *baked beans* also hit the spot, adding a nice balance to the meal. The beer was cold and affordable, which is always a plus. Two of us enjoyed a fantastic meal, including drinks, and the total with tip came to just $54! You really can't beat that for such great quality. The bartender was friendly, and the rest of the staff was just as welcoming. Not to mention, the place was spotless! I'll definitely be back soon! ”
“ So for we have gone twice and pretty much had the same meal two meat platter with two sides. The brisket and the pulled chicken. Husband has the catfish. Ok hands down the catfish is awesome. Enough said. As far as the meat platter: The first visit picture the chicken was very different, tonight it was kinda mixed with skin ends....not terrible just not fantastic. The brisket was great both times. I tried the slaw my first visit and I thought I would give it another shot...I'm super picky for my Cole slaw. It's just a little too peppery/vinegary for me. I can tell though it's freshly made and can still appreciate it, just not my favorite. The collards were cooked very well. Not cooked to death and still flavorful. Portions are good and we leave satisfied. Their desserts are absolutely amazing and home made from Mabels homemade recipes. The banana pudding has been on point. For a chain bbq joint they are good and we will return. Inside and out it's a clean well run restaurant. You do order at the counter instead of a traditional sit down restaurant but your food is brought out to you promptly. I see them becoming a staple for good fun bbq. ”
“ My group and I were so impressed with Jim N Nick's! It's super cute inside with plenty of seating and even a bar area. The service was incredible - we had servers come to check on us twice after we received our food, and it's not even a table service restaurant! The Mac and cheese and cornbread were some of the best I've had. DEFINITELY get the Mac and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the white bbq sauce but that's only because it was a bit vinegary, which I know a lot of people do like. ”
